What this service stores: nothing

This is the most important thing to understand before sending a notice. SaveThisMedia is a tool, not a host. It keeps no library, no archive, no cache and no index of anyone’s media.

When someone submits a link, our server reads the media addresses that X (formerly Twitter) already publishes for that public post and passes them to the visitor’s browser. Files are streamed and never written to disk. Nothing is retained after the request finishes.

In practice this means there is no copy on our servers for us to take down. If a video is removed from X (formerly Twitter), it immediately stops being reachable through this tool, because the tool was only ever pointing at the original.

Removing content at the source

If your work was uploaded to X (formerly Twitter) without your permission, the effective remedy is to report it to that platform directly. Removing it there removes it everywhere, including from any tool that links to it. We cannot remove a post from a platform we do not operate.

Sending us a notice

We still want to hear from rights holders, and we act on what we reasonably can - for example by blocking specific addresses or accounts from being processed by the service. Send your notice to copyright@savethismedia.com.

To be actionable, a notice should include:

• Your contact details: name, address, telephone number and email address.
• A clear identification of the work you say is infringed, and of the specific post or address you are complaining about.
• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We aim to respond to complete notices within five business days. Sending a notice in bad faith, or misrepresenting that material is infringing, can make you liable for damages under section 512(f) of the DMCA.

Counter-notices

If access was restricted through this service and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address, including your contact details, identification of what was restricted, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was restricted in error.

Repeat infringers

the operator of SaveThisMedia will block, without notice and at its discretion, any visitor who uses this service to infringe copyright repeatedly.

What users agree to

Our Terms of Service require every visitor to download only material they created, material they have permission to use, or material covered by an exception such as fair use or fair dealing in their own country. Republishing, redistributing or monetising someone else’s work is prohibited, and doing it is the user’s liability.

Nothing on this site is an invitation to infringe. The tool accesses only what X (formerly Twitter)publishes openly, never touches private or protected accounts, and defeats no technical protection measure of any kind.
